(adj.) ever upward

I’m Pamela Sabado, a student of the University of the Philippines – Diliman. I finished my undergraduate studies in Mathematics on 2015, and my pursuit of a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics is underway. Yay!

I think it would be a good idea to keep a record of the career milestones I reach, hence the revival of this blog. Some of the goals I attained in 2016 are the following:

  • Get accepted and perform well in my dream company’s actuarial division
  • Contribute regularly to the Pinoy Scientist radio program and its extension ventures
  • Pursue a master’s degree in Applied Math (focused on physical sciences)
  • Collaborate on a groundbreaking academic project (with my professor friends!)
  • Secure myself financially (through investments and insurance)
  • Work on 3 cosplay projects

And these are what I’m targeting for 2017:

  • Present in at least 1 academic conference
  • Pass 3 actuarial exams (ambitious but doable!)
  • Finish the academic project within the year
  • Study poker and perform well in a tournament
  • Get good enough at 고스톱 to FINALLY beat my mentor (haha!)
  • Learn how to play the bass guitar
  • Work on at least 3 cosplay projects

2016 had been a transformative year for me — I was able to integrate myself properly into the workforce, got to know people from varying backgrounds and learned things from them, read a few life-changing nonfiction books, became closer with my mentor, and gained a more mature perspective in life. Hopefully I’ll be able to take a giant leap to my ideal future this year. I’m excited to update this blog over the years and look back at all the good things that happened! 😀 (possibly to use them as a source of strength during the most trying times)

On a side note, I happen to be (kinda) addicted to learning stuff for fun, so I’m going to post  content about fields I study if I find the time. Feel free to pick up whatever knowledge you might find useful here. 🙂 (just don’t use them against me. haha!)

Happiness is the process of becoming your ideal self.
